Man charged with unlawful cultivation of drugs further remanded

A MAN charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs has been further remanded by the High Court in Suva.

It is alleged that Malakai Bola Smith, without lawful authority, cultivated 283 plants of marijuana that weighed 16kg.

The alleged incident occurred on June 10, 2018, in Kadavu.

State lawyer Unaisi Tamanikaiyaroi sought time to file the agreed facts.

Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe has adjourned the case to March 7.
