Man charged for allegedly attacking pregnant sister

Fijian Police have charged the young man who allegedly attacked his pregnant sister with a count each of assault causing actual bodily harm and act with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police said the woman in her 30s was allegedly assaulted and struck with an iron rod.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro had said that the 24-year-old man – woman’s brother – allegedly committed the offence on June 27, 2020, following an argument about their compound in Nabua.
The victim was admitted at the CWM hospital.
This morning, Ms Naisoro said police in Nabua had laid the charges and the man would be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today.
