Man accused of raping niece remanded

A 42-YEAR-OLD man charged with one count of rape appeared at the High Court in Suva this morning.

It is alleged that the man raped his 25-year-old niece on September 30, 2018 in Nasinu.

The accused told the court that he wishes to represent himself.

The state was represented by Lavenia Bogitini.

Justice Thushara Rajasinge remanded the accused and has adjourned the case to March 8.
