THE Makoi Women’s Vocational Centre in Nasinu held an open day for it’s women participants today.

Centre director Shahista Shazna Khan said 55 women had completed their training at the centre.

“The importance of this open day is to showcase whatever the participants have learnt and prepared during their eight weeks of training. They showcase their products to the public and try to sell them as well,” Ms Khan said.

She said the centre offered three courses, which were in sewing, cooking and pastry, and hydroponics.

A total of 753 women have graduated from the centre since its establishment in September 2015.

The centre will host its graduation ceremony on May 13.
