MEMBERS of the public are being advised that maintenance works scheduled for Nalele Bridge in Taveuni will begin this Friday, January 24 and is expected to be completed by Monday, January 27, if the weather permits.
Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) said works are scheduled from 8pm to 5am daily and during this time, traffic access will be prohibited across the bridges and there will be no detours provided.
“The work was due to take place on the 16th of this month, but due to the unfavourable weather conditions, the works was postponed,” FRA said.
“Bridge closure advisory signs have been posted in advance of the closure period and motorists are requested to plan their travel accordingly.
“We will have standby vehicles available on both sides of the bridge to cater for emergency events.
“Travelers along this area are advised to take this notice into account when finalising travel plans.”
