WITH the development boom in the North, the Land Transport Authority intends to open its Nabouwalu office in Bua, Vanua Levu, on a full-time basis.
Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Parveen Kumar said the project would start after the completion of the Dreketi-Nabouwalu highway.
Mr Kumar said the office in Nabouwalu opened only twice a week and was manned by officers in Labasa. “This will soon become a fully-fledged office offering all LTA services for the people in the Bua province,” Mr Parveen said.
“The Nabouwalu office is strategically situated and has the potential to serve and accommodate motorists’ demand, especially those coming in and out of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu through the transhipment boat service from Natovi to Nabouwalu jetty. With a better and improved road network and infrastructure along the new highway, we should expect growing demand in terms of land transport services.”
