The Lovoni Titans consists of youths from the area who are school students, dropouts and a few who are working.

Lovoni Titans committee member Walusio Vunivalu said the clean-up was done as part of their team bonding program for the youths.

“We just thought of this idea of cleaning up during this public holiday so that the boys can have something to do and also as a group activity,” said Vunivalu.

The newly established team which joined the Fiji National Rugby League competition in Suva this year is also hoping to hold fundraising drives to assist the financial needs of the team.

“We are in need of financial assistance as we are just a new team and we also need to register our name with the sports council,” said Vunivalu.

“Like all other teams we need funds for our team uniforms, training gear and equipment to help us with our training and when we take part in competition.”
