If it’s meant to be, love will always find its way back. That is how Siwanjali Prasad and Shivishneel Narayan found their way back to each other and fell in love.

Siwanjali and Shivishneel went to the same high school.

In actual fact, they hardly talked to each other civically and often ended up fighting – whenever they spoke. It was after high school that they met again in 2016 ,when Shivishneel came to meet one of his friends. That friend happend to be Siwanjali’s best friend so the meeting rekindled the pair’s high school friendship.

“I was studying in nursing school,” she reminished.

“So I used to travel with him to school as his work was nearby and we became quite close.

“He became my male best friend and I became confused between love and friendship,” she said.

The friends parted in 2018 and met again in June 2021, after almost 2 years 8 months.

“In August 2021, I met his family, whom I already knew about but had never seen or met.

“It was then that our families decided that we should tie the knot in December 2021.”

One day Shivishneel invited Siwanjali to accompany him to what she thought was a friend’s party at the Vuda Marina outside Lautoka City.

She did not know what was in store for her. At the Vuda Marina, Shivishneel proposed and popped Siwanjali the famous question without saying a word.

A set up with a “marry me” sign and flowers awaited her at the marina, followed by a romantic photoshoot. After that, things happened very fast.

Wedding plans were discussed and the rest is history.

“As any other event planning, a wedding is a hectic situation for every bride and groom but with our family and friends’ support we managed to have a successful one,” Siwanjali said.

The three-day event included tilak and henna, haldi night and the wedding ritual.

“Our wedding was held at Nav Durga Mandir, our mandap for the wedding was a floral decoration mixed with colours of light pink and white flowers along with peach and red floral decoration to contrast with our outfits.

“Both our decorations and videography were done by Deepas Shubh Vivah Decoration and Perfect Moments Photography & Cinematography Fiji.”

Adorned with a Sabyasachi lehenga, the bride looked stunning in maroon-red and sky-blue. The groom’s outfit was designed to match the bride’s outfit.

“Shivishneel is a supportive partner,” Sivanjali professed, “he had always been by my side, looking after me.”

“ He was by my side when my mum passed away and his affection towards me in my difficult state had developed my respect and love for him.”

“Destiny had made us go separate ways and destiny had brought us back together.”
