ALL trees logged from freehold land or State land need to be recorded and the processes that involve ranking in money need to be known by the Ministry of Forestry.

This was the plea made by Ministry of Forestry permanent secretary Pene Baleinabuli who said this needed to be known so that there were no illegal dealings taking place.

He said ministry officials were repositioning themselves throughout Fiji to ensure areas which had many forests would be monitored well.

“Just like the Fiji 7s team, they are winning because everyone is playing their part and they are working as a team,” Mr Baleinabuli said.

“We will monitor it this well with the repositioning we have placed for the staffs of the ministry.”

He added there were talks held to request assistance from those who could assist the ministry better monitor its resources.

“We are talking with people who can help us and provide the technology so that we can better monitor our own resources.”
