FOUR food and beverage companies from Fiji will be among the nine such companies from the Pacific Islands that will participate at this year’s Auckland Food Show from July 27 to 30.
Pacific Trade and Invest (PTI) New Zealand trade development manager Joe Fuavao said PTI would promote products from Pleass Global Ltd, FMF Foods Ltd, Tavulomo Coconut Processing and Punjas, through their distributor J Punja NZ.
The nine Pacific participants will be hosted at a booth in the PTI NZ’s Pacific Hub stand during the show.
“Our participation at the Auckland Food Show this year hold several benefits for these companies.
“With many of the products available in the New Zealand market, it is an opportunity for the companies to build brand awareness, develop a better understanding of the New Zealand market through consumers research; and reach new segments of the market who may not be aware of the range of high quality products available from Fiji,” Mr Fuavao said.
He welcomed the companies from Fiji and the Pacific Islands to the Pacific Hub stand at the Auckland Food Show.
“We look forward to working with these companies to facilitate more exports from the Pacific Islands to New Zealand,” he said.
Michael Greenslade, PTI NZ trade and investment commissioner and chief executive officer had said earlier that PTI anticipated that the PTI stand featuring these Pacific Island companies would get the same high profile they received last year.
Among the products that will be on show will be a range of biscuits, snack foods, bottled water, innovative coconut-based products, chocolate, cocoa and health products based on turmeric.
“We expect coconut and turmeric-based products to attract a lot of attention,” Mr Greenslade said.
“The Auckland Food Show provides a good platform for our Pacific companies to build inroads into the retail market by meeting with potential distributors and building a relationship with thousands of New Zealand consumers,” Mr Fuavao said.
