After five months away due to COVID-19, the local rugby league competition returns with a blast with the 2020 Vodafone Cup launched today at the Albert Park in Suva.

“Five months in lockdown, we have all looked forward to this occasion,” said FNRL chief executive officer Don Natabe.

26 clubs will participate in this year’s competition across three conferences namely, the Suva Zone, Nasinu Zone and the Nadi/Lautoka Zone.

Meanwhile, in the opening round this weekend at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, the FNRL will be providing 1000 free tickets to those affected in Nadi due to COVID-19.

“To any worker that is there in the western division, if you are able to produce a work ID, you can come to the gates present your ID and get in for free.”

The first round of competition begins this Saturday with the Nadi/Lautoka Zone round one matches at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
