The Fiji Grocers Association says it is putting all efforts to ensure it maintains uninterrupted services to customers.

Association president Savendra Dayal said businesses had considered and were putting continuity plans in place to prevent any significant disruptions to supply chain and customer service.

“However, conditions are challenging for all of us at the moment,” Mr Dayal said.

“We hope that our customers will understand and accept that even though we are doing our best to meet the needs of our customers, there may still be times when we are unable to provide our services at the normal speed, and when delays and temporary out-of-stock situations might be encountered,” he said.

Mr Dayal said the safety and health of customers, families and colleagues were of paramount importance to them, as were the health and wellbeing of the communities in which they operated.

“Nothing is more important. As such, we are in full support of the Government’s efforts to curb the disease from further spreading.”

The Fiji Grocers Association represent supermarkets, wholesalers and distributors in grocery trade.
