THE Ministry of Local Government will work with the Nasinu Town Council to map out the best ways forward to generate revenue.

During a meeting with the newly-appointed special administrators in Valelevu, Nasinu, last week, Minister Premila Kumar said the Government was aware that the municipal council was not well resourced in terms of rate collection and revenue generation.

“I agree that Nasinu Town Council is one of the largest municipality we have but one of the poorest municipality,” Mrs Kumar said.

“This is where we have to work out the best ways of generating revenue taking into consideration we have more residences and very few businesses.”

Government, she said was also assisting the municipality with the highest number of informal settlements with garbage collection.
