Digicel national women’s football team rep Koleta Likuculacula is ready to pursue her career in coaching after attending a five-day FIFA/OFC C License Coaching Course which concluded yesterday at Fiji FA Academy in Suva.
Twenty participants which include five current Digicel Kula reps took part in both theory and practical sessions. Likuculacula said she enjoyed learning from the experienced female conductor who facilitated the course Margaret Aka.
“She has excellent knowledge and I really appreciated learning from her,” the Ba rep said.
“With the course being only for females, participants were able to open up to everybody around, and it is great to have Aka who is a former player as well.
“For me, this is my future because I have a passion for football and now I know it will just not end playing, but I will have the opportunity to coach after retiring from football.
“I always see myself as a player, but these five days have developed me both ways and I am going to share what I have learned from here with my teammates.
“It is respectable that we players have been given the opportunity to attend this course together with some former women footballers and district coaches.
“Fiji FA has been doing a lot in the development of women’s in football and I think it will not be long when we see our national women’s football team on the global stage.”
Some of the Digicel Kulas players taking part in the course are, Cema Nasau, Jotivini Tabua, Veniana Ranadi, and Unaisi Tuberi.
