THE Vodafone ATH Foundation today handed over a cheque worth 20,000 to Lifeline Fiji.
The handover today signifies the continued support the foundation has shown towards Lifeline over the last few years.
Lifeline chairperson Tiri Naulivou said this assistance would beenfit them in the work in their crisis centre.
“We are so excited and above all very grateful to the Vodafone ATH Foundation for reaching out to promote lifelong assistance to lifeline Fiji,” she said.
“The Vodafone ATH foundation has been a friend and provided continuous support to our organization over the last few years.”
Vodafone ATH Foundation regional manager Nilesh Chand said this was just a small assistance for the great work that Lifeline Fiji does.
“Today we’re handing over $20,000 to Lifeline Fiji it is a very small amount if we see how large the problem has become, according to WHO by 2020 the next killer disease after the heart disease is depression,” Mr Chand said.
“We are seeing that more men are falling victims of problems associated with mental health, we may or may not act now because it has not happened to our loved ones.
“Our foundation believes that root because analysis is important and if we nip the issues at the bud, it’s less costly and less suffering then the pain it is associated with. “
