THE Lelean Memorial School under-15 rugby league team is expecting a tough challenge when they take on the top schools in the Fiji secondary schools rugby league competition.

Coach Inia Serukalou said his team hadn’t lost any game and they hoped to keep up with that momentum.

“We always had our senior teams, under-17 and under-19 being winners in schools’ rugby league and for us we had to struggle,” Serukalou said.

“But I am glad to have a bunch of good players who are willing to sacrifice, and for the time being, we haven’t lost any game and we hope that the boys keep up with that.’

Serukalou said since the boys were new to the sport, he was trying his best to make the players understand the game.

“It is not always easy to teach them the basics but I am glad the boys have been willing to learn,” he said.

“We’ve gone through a lot of challenges to getting this team ready for this competition and I have faith in these players.”

He said the competition was getting tougher every year with big schools such as Ratu Kadavulevu and Nasinu secondary schools being the top teams.

“I have faith in my players, win or lose as long as they get the chance to play and gain more experience of the sport.”
