Lawyer in court for unlawful possession and breaching bail conditions

A LAWYER charged with two counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs and one count of breaching bail conditions appeared before the Suva Magistrates Court today.

It is alleged that Shazran Abdul Lateef had in his possession 9.5grams of methamphetamine.

He is also alleged to have in his possession 3.5grams of cannabis sativa namely marijuana.

It is also alleged that Mr Lateef breached his bail conditions by re-offending for another matter.

It is alleged that all incidents occurred on May 9, 2019, in Suva.

Police prosecutor Constable Walter Taito served full phase disclosures.

Magistrate Waleen George granted Mr Lateef bail.

The case has been adjourned to June 17 for a plea.
