THE Lautoka football team received a boost ahead of the Pacific Cup with the kind sponsors of Jack’s Fiji in Nadi yesterday.

The Blues were handed three sets of playing kits and also fostered a new partnership with Jack’s Fiji – the main supplier of the Qaqa uniform.

Jack’s of Fiji marketing officer Biu Tadranu said the landmark partnership was part of the company’s commitment to promote and develop sports in Fiji.

The company has been main supplier of the Nadi football and rugby teams over the years and Tadranu was grateful to team up with the champion Lautoka team.

“We are proud to form a new partnership with Lautoka football and we hope the sponsorship will boost its Pacific Cup campaign,” said Tadranu.

“This is the first time for us to sponsor the Lautoka football side and we look forward to form a winning combination.”

Lautoka team official Muni Rajan said the commitment shown by Jack’s Fiji would inspire the players to come out of their comfort zones and deliver the goods.

“This is a milestone achievement for Lautoka in being able to partner with Jack’s Fiji,” he said. “We will do our best to play our hearts out for our sponsors.”

The value of sponsorship is $4000.

Meanwhile, the Blues also acknowledge the sponsorship of three die hard fans who have agreed to look after the team’s expenses in Australia.

The three are Wasim Khan, Faran Ali and Irfan Ali- all based in Australia. Lautoka team director Abdul Kadar said the assistance made by Jack’s Fiji and the three fans in Australia would motivate the players to do well.

“We are fortunate to have the support of various companies and individuals committed to the development of soccer in Lautoka,” he said.

The team leaves today.
