Residents of Lautoka have been warned to store their garbage properly in storage bins or face a fine of close to $1000.
This was a warning from the Lautoka City Council following the increasing number of stray animals going through people’s rubbish.
In a public notice, the Council expressed concerns that many residents were discharging garbage for collection in supermarket plastic bags and cartons, native baskets, plastic garbage bags and open plastic buckets.
