THE Lautoka Football Association has appointed Krishna Chandra as its new Interim President.

In its Council meeting held last Friday, Chandra was appointed after consultation between current executives and former presidents.

Lautoka Football Council chairman Shailendra Prasad said Chandra wanted to take up the role and he was given a chance.

“After former president Abdul Kadar resigned on the 4th of May, the executives requested me to take over as president. I consulted other former executives and Krishna has put his hands up so we have decided to give him an opportunity,” Prasad said.

Krishna is not new to Lautoka football having been an official from 2007 to 2012.

During his term, he served as a team manager, team director and vice-president.

Prasad added that Lautoka football had full faith in Chandra to continue and bring success to the association.

Prasad, who is the longest-serving president for Lautoka football said the Blues would prosper and fans could rest assured that their team was in good hands.
