THE Lautoka football side successfully defended the Pacific Cup edging Labasa 1-nil in the final at the Bill Mckinlay Park in Mt Wellington on Sunday.
Samuela Gavo scored the only goal of the match in the first spell.
Labasa tried hard but Lautoka’s guest goalkeeper Nicholas Lawrence guarded his goal well and didn’t let Labasa get the equaliser.
Lautoka received $NZ10,000 for the win while Labasa walked away with $NZ 3000.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Lautoka beat Nadi 3-1 while Labasa edged AUFFI All Stars 1-nil.
In the Over-40s final, NZ Nadro edged out NZ Rewa Masters 2-0.
The 10-team tournament, held over five days, attracted teams from Fiji, Australia, New Zealand and United States.
Next year’s tournament, hosted by USFFI, will be held in Fiji in November.
