A LAUTOKA couple has been paying more than $150 for dialysis treatments despite Government’s announcement of a $75 subsidy for households earning less than $30,000.
Fatma Bibi Ali and Neiyaz Ali said they had spent between $150 and $250 per treatment in Ba and Lautoka.
“We went everywhere from Lautoka, Nadi and Ba and each time the charge was either $150 or $250 for each dialysis treatment,” she said.
“We both had low-income jobs. I used to be market vendor but now I stay home to look after my husband.”
