Auditor Shereen Lata has added another feather in her cap after being crowned the Miss Vodafone Tebara Carnival 2022.

The 24-year-old from Khalsa, Nasinu, was emotional after her win and credited the achievement to the hard work and lessons learnt during the week-long festivities.

“I’m really feeling overwhelmed and I am really excited and honoured to be given this crown tonight,” she said in an interview.

“It was really tiring for me but at the same time, I learnt a lot and it was really amazing for me and I will cherish this moment for my life.”

According to Ms Lata, one of the best parts of contesting for the crown was being in close company with her fellow pageant sisters.

“The best part is the learning experience and in these seven days, I have learnt so much from my sister contestants who are as talented as one should be.” She also encouraged other young women to break free from their comfort zones and try out for pageants to have a life-changing experience.

Sponsored by Pehnawa, Ms Lata’s win was made special as her parents, Binit Prasad and Sharmila Kumari, were in the crowd to witness the moment.

She was one of seven contestants vying for the crown.
