Landowners in Ba have requested the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) to inform them of any breach pertaining to land leases.

The plea was made to board representatives at the recent Ba Provincial Council meeting in Sorokoba Village.

A Nadi landowner informed the board that there had been land lease breaches in Nadi and they only came to know of it when they saw new homes constructed on their land that were first issued out for agricultural leases.

He also pleaded with the board to always go back to them and inform them of such breaches because they as landowners have the right to know anything concerning their land.

The landowner also pleaded with the board to relook at breaching penalties dished out to lessees who breached their lease agreements.

TLTB manager North-West region Soloveni Masi informed landowners in the province that they would look into this concern.

He also reminded them that the board was there to serve them and they as landowners need to have trust in those working for the board.
