At this time of the year, the people of Lomaiviti look forward to the lairo season.
At Yadua Village in Gau, villagers captured videos of an abundance of lairo on the shorelines.
Images received showed these land crabs amass on shorelines and along roadsides inland.

Villagers say they do not sell these delicacies rather they pack it and send it to their relatives on mainland because they regard these as their blessing.
These images and video was also able to be received because the area where these land crabs were found is where there is internet connectivity.
