Lalauvaki trial: High Court jails former cop

A FORMER Police officer was today sentenced to four years, 10 months and 12 days imprisonment by High Court judge Justice Vinsent Perera.

Kelepi Kolinisau was convicted of a count of manslaughter.

Kolinisau caused the death of Josua Lalauvaki following an altercation outside a Suva nightclub on September 2, 2018.

Lalauvaki died at the CWM hospital on October 11, 2018, from injuries he had sustained as a result of police assaults.

Kolinisau will be eligible for parole after serving four years and 12 days behind bars.
