THE trial for the two former police officers accused of murdering Joseua Lalauvaki last year concluded at the High Court in Suva today.

Kelepi Duri Tautaumacala Kolinisau and Selema Tikoenaburevere are charged with a count each of murder.

Lalauvaki died at the CWM hospital on October 11, 2018, from injuries allegedly sustained as a result of police assaults.

A total of nine State witnesses and five defence witnesses testified during the two-week trial.

In court today, defence lawyer for Mr Kolinsau, Barbara Malimali, informed the court that they needed more time to prepare their closing addresses.

Both men are on bail.

The matter now will be called next Tuesday.
