The Lakeba Rugby Union is eager to learn all they can when they host Vodafone Vanua Championship finalist Rewa on Lakeba in December.

Lakeba Rugby Union president Seniteteva Diloi said they had accepted an approach from the Rewa Rugby Union for the 2021 Skipper Cup entrants to tour the island.

“It is a great initiative on both our parts, especially when we look to build the sport in the country and on the islands,” Diloi said.

Diloi said he was happy that respectable unions like Rewa were supporting the move minor unions were taking to develop the game in their respective unions.

“There are plenty untapped talents around Fiji, and we thank Rewa for their part in uncovering players for the nation.”

Meanwhile the Lakeba Rugby Union is on the verge of sending their first team to compete in next year’s Vanua Championship.

Alongside coaching clinics the exhibition matches between Rewa and Lakeba will be held on December 4 and 16 at Tubou Village on Lakeba.

The Rewa team marched into camp at Navatuyaba Village in Toga, Rewa in preparation for this weekend’s Vodafone Vanua Championship final at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
