Labasa schools to resume classes today

SCHOOLS in the Labasa area will resume normal operations today.
Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea said the seven schools in the area were either affected by flooding or used as evacuation centres.
Mr Vocea said the schools were cleaned yesterday by personnel from the Vaturekuka Corrections Centre and the National Fire Authority in Labasa.
Mr Vocea said some areas were still without water supply, urging members of the public to bear with the Water Authority of Fiji as they continued their work to restore supply.
“It may take another one or two days for supply to be reinstated in these areas,” said Mr Vocea.
“For the time being, the authority is still carting water in these areas.” he said.
