COMMUNITIES living within the Labasa Town area and its outskirts have been forewarned about military training that would include firing of guns tomorrow.
A statement from the Republic of the Fiji Military Force (RFMF) stated that such training was part of the Fiji Day national celebration that would be held at Subrail Park next Wednesday.
“In preparation for the Fiji Day Parade 21 Gun Salute, the 105 mm Howitzer Gun will be fired during the preparation commencing at 8.30am and ending at 12 noon daily,” the release stated.
Members of the public, especially those living within Labasa Town and its outskirts, are forewarned not to be alarmed when they hear the thunderous sound when the guns are fired.
The preparation for this year’s Fiji Day Parade will commence tomorrow Friday, October 5, to Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Subrail Park.
