THE 2014 Courts Inter-District Championship (IDC) will kick off on October 4 with the opening round of super premier games.
Four games will be played on that weekend at Subrail Park in Labasa and Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
In Labasa, the Babasiga Lions will host Suva while in Nadi, Rewa will play Nadroga followed by the Tailevu Naitasiri versus Nadi match.
On October 5, Ba will play Lautoka at Prince Charles Park.
The remaining rounds alongside the premier, secondary and primary grades will be played from at the ANZ Stadium from October 9 to 12.
Fiji Football Association CEO Bob Kumar said the opening round of the IDC would coincide with the Veterans tournament which would be played in Nadi.
Fiji FA had earlier started all super premier games would be played in the 90 minutes format.
“We are trying to take the games to other centres as most of them cannot travel to Suva to get a glimpse of the IDC,” Kumar said.
“Lautoka’s Churchill Park was unavailable so the games will be held in Nadi which will run alongside the Veterans tournament.”
Kumar said while some districts had started their preparation for the tournament, others were expected to start after the conclusion of the National Football League this weekend.
Host Suva leads Group A with Labasa, Nadi and newly-promoted Tailevu Naitasiri while defending champions Ba leads Group B with Rewa, Lautoka and Nadroga.
