THE much awaited bout has become reality as Joseph Kwadjo and Savenaca Naliva signed their fight contract yesterday at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
Kwadjo and Naliva have agreed to contest the vacant light-heavyweight title in the 83kg weight on February 8, 2019.
“The moment we have all waited for is finally here,” said South Pacific Boxing Promotion’s Freddy Chand who with the financial support of SPBP director Mohammed Shameem in Canada has made the bout a reality.
“Fiji has been waiting for this fight for so long.
“The challenge was put out from Naliva’s camp and Kwadjo has accepted it and finally today we have put pen to paper.”
Chand said the match up had been a working progress for nearly two years trying to get two of Fiji’s prime fighters to set foot together in the ring.
“We thank the boxers for coming forward and wish them all the best for next year’s title fight.”
Also on the card for the program next year will be the welterweight title of Fiji fight between Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana and Ronald Naidu.
“This will be Rakuro and Naidu’s third meeting but this will be the decider for the belt which is also vacant.”
