MINISTER for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Local Government, Housing and Community Development Premila Kumar says one of her major roles is to ensure that jobs are created through trade and investment.

As part of her job, she said one of the major portfolios under her responsibility was housing and community development.

Mrs Kumar was sworn-in alongside other MPs in Suva today.

She was the former CEO of the Consumer Council of Fiji before she contested the 2018 general elections under the FijiFirst party banner.
She managed to secure a total of 1379 votes, most of which were from the Central Division.

“As you know, trade and investment is all about job creation and looking after the private sector, expanding the investments for the country and looking for new areas of export, what I am going to do will be based on FijiFirstmanifesto that we had rolled out,” Mrs Kumar said.
