Kumar reflects on Fiji’s strong relationship with China

FIJI’S Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Premila Kumar reflected on the strong and growing relationship between Fiji and China during the Guangdong 21st maritime silk road international expo that was held last week.

She said this relationship included the link Fiji shared with the Guangdong Province.

“This cooperation is envisioned to lead to elevated trade, investment, tourism, cultural and people to people exchange,” Mrs Kumar said.

“This theme forum provides an important mechanism through which the implementation of the Maritime Silk Road strategy could lead to benefits for all parties.”

The expo was held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center in  China.

Mrs Kumar said with this preliminary meetings and visitations, she looked forward to an onward collaboration and successful implementation of various projects under her respective portfolios.

More than 40 countries along with hundreds of participants gathered to deliberate on the theme ‘High-level cooperation leading to high-quality development’.
