Fresh from helping his Bengaluru side beat Mumbai City 2-1 in the final of the Durand Cup in India, Fiji football striker Roy Krishna has joined the national side for the remaining matches of the MSG Presidents Cup.

National team manager Anushil Kumar confirmed that Krishna joined the team in Vanuatu yesterday.

“It will be good to have Roy join us. Coming off a winning performance from the Durand Cup, Roy will just add to the good vibes already in the team,” Kumar said.

Kumar added Krishna brought with him a lot of depth and experience.

“Roy brings with him loads of experience. He will be looked up to by many players and I’m pretty sure he will add more firepower in our attack. “Roy is always a morale booster whenever he joins the team.”

The national side is preparing for its second pool match against the Solomon Islands.

They are in a solid position to qualify for the semi-finals after a 1-nil win over New Caledonia in their opening match.

Fiji plays the Solomon Islands at 4pm this Saturday.
