Koya confirms negotiations with landowners in progress

LAND negotiations between Airports Fiji Ltd (AFL) and the landowners around Nausori International Airport are well in progress, says the Minister for Lands, Faiyaz Koya.
Mr Koya said the negotiations had not been held up, although there were certain issues which needed to be sorted out before reaching an agreement.
“We are just in the middle of negotiations, it is not held up as such it is just certain things have to be ironed out and once we get an agreement we should be fine, but we are on course,” Mr Koya said.

The runway at Nausori International Airport needs to be expanded to accommodate a bigger range of 737s.
Currently only Fiji Airways’ 737-700 operates most of the international flights to Australia and New Zealand from Nausori.
