TRAVELING to Korovou Hospital to seek medical assistance will now be a thing of the past for the people of Sawakasa and the North of Tailevu after a newly-rebuilt health centre was opened today.

Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete said more than $100,000 was spent to rebuild the facility.

He said the facility was destroyed by a fire in 2017.

“We make sure it fits the purpose to be a health centre ensuring that we have the proper OHS requirement,” Dr Waqainabete said.

He said four medical officers, including a doctor, will operate from the newly-built hospital.
