Onisivoro Koroi reclaimed the Mr Fiji title at the Mr & Mrs Fiji Bodybuilding Championship 2022 on Saturday.
The Mokani Tailevu gentleman said he had been part of the sport all of his life and to win the title is a big achievement.
He has won the title five times.
“Despite the cancellation of the competition last month, it did not dampen my spirit as I continued to train,” he said.
“There was not much competition, but I am grateful to all who competed on Saturday.
“This sport has taught me a lot and one of the key points is discipline.
“I have taught myself to be disciplined on the food I eat – that is no sugar, salt, meat and rice. I have been in this sport since I was young and there was no time for me to regret it.”
The construction worker is making a plea for sponsors to help him as he looks forward to defend his title again in May.
“With the South Pacific Games too this year, I am looking forward to be part of the squad. I am seeking help and support to help me in my training.
“For me, it’s just from work to the gym and back home.”
He is calling on young people to make use of their talent, not everyone can play rugby. Inoke Ligairi was the defending holder.
