Koroi laid to rest

PEOPLE from all walks of life gathered at the Centenary Methodist Church in Suva yesterday to bid farewell to the vice-president of the Methodist Church in Fiji, the Rev Kalisiana Koroi.

Mr Koroi passed away last Tuesday.

While speaking on behalf of the Yavusa o Daku from the vanua of Matuku during the funeral service yesterday, Government Member of Parliament, Netani Rika acknowledged the life and spiritual service of Mr Koroi to the church, vanua and the nation.

Mr Koroi was a former senior lecturer in mechanical engineering at the then Fiji Institute of Technology and also a former head of School of Mechanical Engineering at FIT from 1987 to 1989.

He also worked as the general manager technical training at the Training and Productivity Authority of Fiji (TPAF) from 2001 to 2009. Mr Koroi only served as VP of the church for three months before his untimely passing. He was laid to rest at the Lovonilase Cemetery in Suva.
