THE Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Fiji Office hosted its second World Friends Korea (WFK) Host Organisation Workshop in Suva today.

KOICA Fiji Office country director Jihi Kim said the purpose of the WFK was to provide a space where KOICA Fiji and all host organisations accommodating KOICA volunteers discussed matters relating to the WFK program.

“This will help to foster its growth and at the same time strengthen new and current partnerships. Compared to other volunteer programs, WFK  enables volunteers to stay on for up to a year or two, with a possibility of a year’s extension,” Ms Kim said.

She highlighted that the WFK volunteer program served as a tool in contributing towards the sustainable development goals (SDGs) by bringing in Korean citizens to render volunteer services to sectors in Fiji that needed them.
