THE Fiji women’s football team have gone down to New Zealand Football Ferns 10-0 in the last pool game encounter of Group B of the Oceania Football Confederation Women’s Nations Cup at Stade Numa Daly, Noumea New Caledonia yesterday.

Despite the loss Fiji had already booked its spot in the semi-finals alongside the Ferns.

The Football Ferns outclassed our lady footballers with strategic passing finding the space time and time again.

The Ferns scored four goals in the first half followed by two in the second spell to seal the deal and go top of the pool.

“We will now look to the two more games ahead of us the semi-finals and possibly the finals.” said Marika Rodu the coach of the Fiji football women’s team.

Fiji will meet Papua New Guinea in the first semifinal of the Nations cup later this week.
