Suva Football Club coach Babs Khan is a happy man after his side defeated Tailevu/ Naitasiri 4-0 during round three of Digicel Fiji Premier League competition at the Uprising Sports complex in Pacific Habour yesterday.

The Capital City side was on fire after leading 1-0 in the first through veteran Samuela Drudru’s boot in the 45th minute.

Tailevu/ Naitasiri returned in the second half with a winning mission but the Suva defense kept them at bay.

In the 63rd minute, Filipe Baravilala scored another goal for Suva with 18 minutes left Peniasi Rotidara slotted their third goal.

With three minutes left, Waisake Navunigasau, through a long-range pass from Baravilala scored another goal.

Babs said the boys played well despite not having the national players on the team during their week-long training session.

“They joined us one day before the game we had a discussion and to my surprise, the players on game day executed our game plan well,” he said.

“Thank you to the boys for getting us the three points.”

He said the players played well.

“They kept their composure.” He said the boys improved compared with their game against Labasa.

“While playing against Labasa we were playing too far apart and the northerners exposed our weakness. “We went back and watch the video of the match and rectified all the areas.”
