SCOUTS were reminded about the importance of peace and their vital role in maintaining peace as Scouts.

This was the message they received on Tuesday night at the 13th National Scout Jamboree week-long camp at Vunimoli Primary School in Labasa.

The event, which happens every four years, is focused on the theme “Peace, Resilience and Sustainability”.

National executive Scouts commissioner Joji Qaranivalu said the Scouts were reminded about their roles in keeping peace with everyone.

“Our Scouts were given the message of peace and this is important because we all play a role in this area,” he said.

Mr Qaranivalu said the daily activities would certainly develop the Scouts and make them stronger people.

At the opening of the event on Monday night, Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum also told the scouts that peace was very important for any nation.

Yesterday, the Scouts continued with their daily activities which are designed to train them well and turn them into stronger people
