Fiji Police Force Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho has reminded the six members of the force in the Fiji 7s team about the importance of maintaining discipline while participating in the Dubai 7s this weekend.

While Qiliho will join Fijians here and abroad in cheering the Fiji 7s teams, he has called on his officers to be on guard against unnecessary actions that could warrant cards from match officials.

Police constables Joseva Talacolo, Waisea Nacuqu, Terio Tamani, Filipe Sauturaga, Mereani Rogosau and Fijiana 7s team assistant coach Apenisa Nasilasila, are part of the Fijian 7s contingent in Dubai.

Qiliho reiterated what he told his officers last week before they left for Dubai.

“I stressed to them the importance of being good ambassadors of Fiji, the organisation, and the sport of 7s rugby,” he said.

“It is imperative to maintain discipline at all times as any case of ill-discipline will reflect negatively on their rugby and professional careers.

“We wish our players the very best and we hope they bring us victory.

“We know we have a very good number of Police officers representing us in the team and our well wishes go out to them.”

The Dubai 7s starts tonight.
