Fiji-born Tanya Kalounivale played an instrumental role in helping the Chiefs Manawa book a spot in the final of Super Rugby Aupiki competition.

Super Rugby Aupiki is a professional women’s rugby union club competition in New Zealand.

The Black Ferns player was in the starting line-up at prop as the defending champions rolled over the Hurricanes Poua 43-21 yesterday.

Kalounivale, who helped the Black Ferns win the 2021 Women’s Rugby World Cup title last year, is expected to run out for the Chiefs in the final against Matatū at North Harbour Stadium on Saturday.

She scored her first 2023 Super Rugby Aupiki try in Chiefs Manawa’s opening round victory against Hurricanes Poua.
