CYBER bullying and the effects of technology on young people nowadays were two main issues discussed at the week-long Scripture Union Fiji SUIS camp at Lautoka’s Natabua High School.

Scripture Union Fiji chairperson Sitiveni Kalou said technology had taken its toll on people, particularly the younger Fijian generation and the SUIS camp was just an ideal platform to let young people understand the use of technology better.

“Technology is a reality nowadays and we are glad we could use this camp to educate these young people,” he said.

“We try to tell them that they can use technology in a better way.

“They can even use technology to be more engaging with the Word of God.”

Mr Kalou said 450 youths from around the country were part of this year’s camp.

He added the week-long camp allowed the youths to come out of their normal setting and engage in one week of fun and indulging in God’s Word.

Students from as far as Uluivalili Secondary School in Cakaudrove, Vanua Levu were part of the camp.
