NEWBIES Jasper Williams Primary School is hoping for a good outing by the end of the 2019 Fiji National Schools’ Swimming Championship at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre in Laucala Bay, Suva.

JWPS manager Luse Qioniwasa said their primary aim was for the girls to enjoy themselves and have a taste of what competitive swimming was like.

“All we want is for our girls to enjoy their time and simply have fun, of course, we are a new team here so winning is not really our focus because we want to encourage the girls in competitive swimming and to know what the school competition feels like,” said Qioniwasa.

Ten students had been fielded to represent the school at the two-day event which ends today.

“We are having a good time out here and the girls have been working hard ever since we started our preparation for today. We are confident that the girls will go back after learning so much from this competition,” said Qioniwasa.

Jasper Williams High School has also registered one swimmer who is the lone swimmer from the school.
