STUDENTS of Jack N Jill Kindergarten performed items and participated in activities as part of Early Childhood Care and Education week celebrations at Nadi Sangam School today.
Chief guest Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Ministry welfare officer Vasemaca Uqeuqe said this week’s activities were important because they highlighted the ciritcal role caregivers played in a child’s early years.
“If we nurture children well, they will live and create better societies for all,” Ms Uqeuqe said.
“Research also demonstrates that to promote young children’s success, we need to provide quality early care and education experiences.
“It has also been proven globally that the first six years of a child’s life are the most critical years due to the rapid pace of development at this stage.”
This year’s ECE week theme is ‘Holistic and Inclusive Early Childhood Care and Education Lasts a Lifetime’.
