IN a bid to assist the physical, educational and social welfare of needy women and children in Fiji, the International Women’s Association (IWA) has organised a fundraising ball that will take place on May 5.
IWA’s president Judy Compain said the association aimed to raise $50,000 at the event and IWA also looked forward to the support from various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) who employed women.
“Our aim is to raise $50k and we are expecting at least 250 people at the fundraising ball,” she said.
“It would be wonderful if more people supported us especially the larger corporations that employ a lot of women.
“It’s a proper three-course meal and a dinner and we have one hour of pre-dinner cocktail before the actual function begins.”
Tickets to the ball are selling at $300 each and can also be purchased from Ms Compain through phone call on 9908879 or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
