Despite the impact of COVID-19 on the tourism sector over the past seven months which resulted in more than 100 staff being made redundant, Pacific Destinations remains focused and continues to invest in its travel ready strategic plan.

Managing director James Sowane yesterday unveiled their new Electric Cold Fogger at the Nadi International Airport.

He said the equipment, using state-of-the-art processes, would be used to sanitise the company’s quality fleet of vehicles in a thorough and time efficient manner using the Australian Ministry of Health approved Virex II J-Flex hospital grade disinfectant.

“Despite the current and future challenges facing our tourism industry and our company, we remain positive and continue to work hard towards ensuring that our developed service protocols are tested and continuously reviewed for improvement.

“Our investment in the ULV Cold Fogger using a quality disinfectant is part of our ongoing efforts to raise our service standards,” said Mr Sowane.

“We can now fully sanitise our 53 seat coach in less than five minutes and it takes up to two minutes to fully sanitise our vans and SUVs which is a huge factor when we do get to the level of turning our vehicles around in a short time.”

He also acknowledged the support of Fiji Chemicals who are the distributors of the fogger and disinfectant.

“It is always great to support and do business with another 100 per cent Fijian owned company in Fiji Chemicals — with a respected reputation and backup service that we are very proud to be associated with.”

Mr Sowane said he was “grateful and honoured” that the Health Ministry had rated their transport services to their required standard for the transportation of arriving Fiji citizens and residents on the weekly repatriation flights.

He said the opportunity had enabled his team to put into practice their travel safe protocols.

“Apart from being able to improvise our protocols, our weekly services for the Ministry of Health has enabled our drivers and transport logistics team to be back at work albeit on limited rostered days, it is providing some paid work for our team to help support their families.”

Pacific Destinations Fiji is a 100 per cent 21-year-old Fijian-owned company which specialises in professional inbound travel and transport management services.
